Summary
Hi, I’m Matthias. As a Principal Engineer at Cantina since 2013, I’ve brought my enthusiasm for technology and UX design to a wide range of mobile and web projects, including a redesigned app for the Newport Folk Festival, the award-winning Link AKCE smart dog collar, and the (also) award-winning Empower Apple Watch app; I also cofounded and chair Cantina's Data Privacy & Security Working Group, which provides expertise and a voice in these critically important areas. Earlier in my career, after obtaining a history degree from Yale University, I developed customized groupware and early web applications using Lotus Notes/Domino (a platform that had more to offer than its reputation suggests) for clients in industries from pharmaceuticals to banking to publishing. More recently, at HighWire Press at Stanford University, I helped develop and improve a revolutionary publishing platform for academic and research journals. Since joining Cantina, I’ve developed a particular passion for mobile software and iPhone development, along with a driving interest in software quality.
